Update to our learning community: July 2025
The end of term is nigh and what a term it has been – both long and rewarding in many different ways. We have celebrated our achievements this year with our final Parent Council meeting of the year last week and I would encourage anyone who is interested in getting involved in the Parent Council next year to put Tuesday, 3rd September 2024 in your diary at 19.00 in G3 at Mackie Academy. This is the AGM and is open to any member of the parent forum; it is also an opportunity to find out more to make an informed decision about whether you wish to join the Parent Council. We look forward to seeing as many new faces as possible there and if you want to find out more now please go to the Parent Council page on our website here.
For SQA exam results on Tuesday, 6th August 2024 a reminder that all guidance and support can be found on our Curriculum Pathways and SQA Information page. Please remember that the majority of queries will be dealt with on our return to school on Tuesday, 20th August 2024. Mrs Hamilton, SQA Co-ordinator, will only deal with priority appeals during the holiday period.
You will find all information relating to key dates and Parents Evenings updated on our website / Pupil and Parent Information site on our return to school for Tuesday, 20th August 2024. Following consultation, S1 and S3 parents’ evenings will be in person as will our Senior Phase Pathways evening in February 2025 whilst S2, and Senior Phase Parents Evenings will remain online. The school is now in a position that we should be able to offer wi-fi access in school to any parents who may struggle to do so from home for an online evening. Should you require this service please contact your child’s Pupil Support and Attainment (Guidance) Leader on our return to school in August 2024.

As we head into these final few days of term a big thank you to parents and carers for responding so positively to our new attendance system and use of text messages to respond. This is proving to be very productive, and we really do appreciate your co-operation on this.
Finally, our end of term newsletter will be out on Friday, 5th July 2024 and we hope you will take a little time to look back over all the fabulous achievements of the summer term.
