Aberdeenshire Council: Keyworker Information for return to school 06.01.21
Children of key workers can attend school from the 6th of January 2021 for school age education and childcare during normal school operating hours. To support each school in planning for this return, it is essential that Aberdeenshire Council are aware of any children who will attending school based on their parent/carer’s key worker status. Please see here for Scottish Government guidance on key workers.
Aberdeenshire Council are prioritising those households where both parents are Category 1 or 2 key workers (or one parent in a single parent household):
• Category 1 – Health and Care workers directly supporting COVID-19 response, and associated
staff; Health and Care workers supporting life threatening emergency work, as well as critical primary and community care provision; energy suppliers; staff providing childcare/learning for other category 1 staff.
• Category 2 – All other Health and Care workers, and wider public sector workers providing
emergency/critical welfare services (for example: fire, police, prisons, social workers), as well as those supporting our Critical National Infrastructure, without whom serious damage to the welfare of the people of Scotland could be caused.
You can register if both parents / carers are Category 1 and/or Category 2 key workers or if you are a single parent who is a key worker. If you have other childcare support, including one parent/carer working from home, this must be used instead of an immediate return to school and therefore we ask that you do not complete this form.
Children/young people who are currently isolating should not attend.
We request that parents/carers who are Category 1 and/or Category 2 key workers register if their children will be attending school from Wednesday 6th of January 2021.
Once you have submitted your registration it will be assumed your child(ren) will attend on 6 January 2021. If there are any concerns regarding the key worker category status of parents/carers the school will seek advice from officers, and you may be contacted for clarification.
Please complete the following Registration Form and submit before 12pm on Monday 4th of January 2021. You will need to submit one form for each of your children.
If your child attends an authority-run pre-school setting (linked/within a primary school), please use this form to register your child’s attendance.
If your child attends a funded-provider setting, please contact the setting directly for advice or contact email@example.com
